The Amp Designer is for someone who wants to use Garageband as their amplifier and it’s more than capable of doing that. In fact, it even comes with an amp designer (my guide) which includes hundreds of presets and dozens of amplifier/cabinet combinations, in addition to microphone types and positioning. They both have a wide range of plugins, support materials, and regular updates however, they’re significantly different from each other in a number of key ways.
